Concept
The Schindler Award is a European competition for both architecture students and their colleges, sponsored by the Schindler Elevator Company. The Award was initiated in 2003 during the "European Year for People with Disabilities». Since then Schindler has successfully repeated the competition on a biennial basis, with growing attendance. Brussels was followed by Paris, Berlin and Vienna. The most recent Award of 2012 took place in Bern.
Contest 2012: 113 projects were submitted by 1,100 students and 47 institutions from 24 European countries

Nüesch Development originally developed the concept "Access for All", refined it over the years and has been responsible for task, program and execution of each competition. The Schindler Award represents Nuesch Development's dedication to unexpected challenges in urban mobility and sustainable concepts for all.
